SIAL China at Shanghai, 17th – 19th May 2017

SIAL CHINA, Asia’s largest professional food and beverage exhibition, was held from 17th to 19th May 2017 in Shanghai. The trade show welcomed 3,200 exhibitors from over 67 countries and 80,000 visitors.
 
SIAL CHINA sets the benchmark for overseas companies stepping into Asia and China as well as providing valuable market insights, trends and innovations of the regional food industry, in particular in the meat, dairy and beverage sectors.  
 
The booth of Australian Business Chamber (Export Growth China) was located in Australian Pavilion. We showcased more than 60 SKUs across the categories of dairy products, wine, food and drinks, and health supplementary, and got over 100 leads from Chinese visitors. Export Growth China team is currently following up and screening the leads gathered from SIAL.
 
Some key feedbacks /insights from the Chinese buyers are:

  • Chinese buyers prefer transparent packaging for food and beverage;

  • Chinese consumers are becoming more and more sophisticated and further fragmented;

  • Australian exporters need to promote the brand in Chinese social media and  pull end consumers to the official distribution channels in China;

  • Australian exporters should better prepare export pricing list in term of CIF China main ports;
