Tasmanian born, Hobart butcher Alfred Gough – always an adventurer – branched out from butchery and started making pies in 1942.
Our new family pies combine a bit of Alfred’s adventurous spirit with the traditional care and old fashioned approach he and his bakers would have taken in the 1940’s.
Today, Alfred’s family carry on the tradition of baking delicious pies, using the freshest local ingredients. We employ 95 employees throughout Australia and deliver to 800 customers each day.
Tasmania has consolidated its reputation over recent decades as Australia’s gourmet island, our rich soil, pure air and clean water, inspire dedicated growers to product a truly authentic food and drink experience.
Tasmania is recognised throughout Australia as being the ‘Apple Isle’ and our Apple Pie is made without shortcuts, hand baked in our bakery in Hobart, so you can enjoy the fresh apple flavours from our local Tasmanian apple orchids.
