Edith Bowskill (International Trade Adviser) - Meet The Team!

December 20 2016

How did you get into the business (Business, International Trade, ABCS etc)?

My brother was working at NSWBC in the Apprenticeship Centre and told me about a position going in the International Trade division.  I’ve always been fascinated by other countries and cultures so working in International Trade sounded like a dream come true for me.  Fast forward 9 years and I’ve been lucky enough to work with companies from almost every industry and with colleagues all over the world.

Favourite flavour of ice cream?
All of them!

1 interesting fact about yourself (get creative).
I love cars and was once part of a car club and had my car in a magazine and car show.

Worst advice you were ever given about your area of expertise?
Exporting is the same as selling in Australia except you send your products overseas.

Biggest achievement to date?
My two gorgeous kids.

If you could do anything you wanted right now, what would it be?
Travelling the world

What do you love most about your job?
No two days are the same and I get to learn about so many different things.  I’ve been on tours of a chocolate factory and ice-cream factory, been behind the scenes at the zoo and learned how different types of wine are made, all in a day’s work.

If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to and why?
I don’t think I could pick just one.

Best advertisement you ever saw in relation to brands promoting themselves overseas.
I’ve always thought that Apple have always had some of the best global marketing campaigns by creating one add that can be used across many different markets.

Puppies or kittens?

How would your friends describe you?
Straightforward with a dry sense of humour.
